You can expect;

• Confidential information, education and harm reduction advice around drug and alcohol use.

• Referral into treatment. CAN YP Team (Plan B) works has a nurse who will provide support to access  Alcohol Detox as well as opiate prescribing.

• BBV screening. Access to the nurse to ensure young people will be screened / vaccinated where appropriate.

• Family work. With the young persons permission we can deliver brief family interventions or more structured family work in partnership with the Adult Family Support team.

• Relapse work and Aftercare. We will support young people leaving Youth Offending Institutes to prevent relapse.

• Group information, education and harm reduction sessions for targeted groups. Provided on request at various outreach venues throughout Northamptonshire including; Schools; Pupil Referral Units; Complimentary Education Centre’s; Hostels; Children’s Homes; etc.

• Looked after Children. We have a dedicated worker for the county.

• Dedicated Schools Liaison worker. Offering group work to yp at risk of being excluded and support/training for staff.

• Exploitation prevention and awareness work. Awareness raising sessions on exploitation for vulnerable groups and one to one work with young people at risk of or being exploited in the sex industry.

• Joint work with Youth Offending Service and the Police.

• Advice for professionals concerned about a young person and appropriateness of referral.

• Professionals training sessions raising drug and alcohol awareness as well as referral route into CAN YP Team.
