This 2-day course is designed to be suitable for workers from a range of work backgrounds.
Aims:
To provide a practical set of Brief Interventions that can be applied by workers to help young substance users in a range of settings. To offer up to date information about alcohol, drugs and young peoples substance use.
Following completion of this course, participants will:
- Have explored ways of using Brief Interventions with young substance users
- Have opportunities to practice skills in Brief Interventions
- Have considered factors which contribute to young peoples motivation to change their behaviour
- Have an understanding of factors that contribute to young peoples resistance to change and ways of working with this.
- Have increased their knowledge of alcohol and drugs
- Have increased their knowledge and understanding of young peoples substance use
- Know where and how to get further help and information
