Two day course.

This course is designed as a follow up for those people who have already completed an Introduction to Motivational Interviewing Course.  Its focus is on building skills and theory to engage and support people through a change process.

Aims:

To build Motivational Interviewing skills and knowledge in order to help clients increase their potential for change.

Following completion of this course participants will:

  • Have revisited key skills that help engage clients in the change process.
  • Have practised identifying signs of readiness to change.
  • Have applied key skills that help clients identify and move towards action.
  • Be able to work with ‘change talk’ to facilitate change.
  • Have an opportunity to consider the links between Motivational Interviewing and other theoretical models
  • Reflecting DANOS competency areas  AA2, AA4, AB2, AC1, AF2, AI1, AI2
