WANTED: PEER MENTORS...

Are you aged between 15 + 18?   Are you interested in supporting younger peers on a voluntary basis?   Would you like to receive a certificate in Peer Mentoring? CAN Young Peoples' Team are looking to recruit Peer Mentors to help us support young people who have previously accessed our service. Full training will be given and transport and refreshments will be provided. If you are interested then give our office a call on 08450 556246  and ask for Ali or Zoe.

Free and Confidential

CAN Young People’s Team is a free, confidential drug and alcohol service for those under 19 and their families/carers in Northamptonshire.

The team meet young people on a one-to-one basis, offering advice and information or more structured work  for young people experiencing problems around drugs and alcohol use.

Various venues

The services are available at various outreach venues throughout Northamptonshire. We aim to meet the meet the young person in a place where they feel safe and is convienient to where they live.

Who can access YP team?

  • A young person who is using drugs or alcohol but would like to reduce the harm caused
  • A young person who would like to reduce their drug or alcohol use or stop
  • A young person who needs a substitute prescription
  • A young person who needs support for alcohol dependency
  • A young person who is concerned about someone else’s drug use including parents, carers, siblings or friends
